Bob joined the AFTA board in 2023 because the founder Joyce Elkus asked him to join. He said, “I respect and appreciate her to the highest degree, what a quality person she is. It is my honor to be the secretary of the group.”
Bob has 42 years of experience in Public Safety and Security and has worked for Hamilton County’s Coroner and Crime Lab office as its security manager since the new facility opened in Blue Ash in early 2021.
His work experience includes executive security/personal assistant for Jerry Carroll former Chairman and owner of Kentucky Speedway. He was Director of Security and Safety at the Cincinnatian Hotel for 15 years. He worked for the Cincinnati Bengals as the on-field media security supervisor for a decade and was chosen to work on the NFL field of Superbowl XLVI in 2012 in Indy, assisting with executive security and the Disney Security team for that Superbowl. Bob was the 2015 Martin Luther King award winner for volunteering at UC hospital and UC University and in 2019 was the Global ASIS International Criscuoli award winner. That award specifically recognizes a member who deserves special recognition for volunteer leadership. It’s this dedication to volunteering that makes him a valuable member of the AFTA-Cincinnati Board.
He is working presently as the part-time community relations officer for UC Health in Public Safety. Bob is also a member of the Greater Cincinnati Crime Stoppers Board since 1989.
